Emotional & Elegant Wedding in Biarritz
An Unforgettable Wedding at Hôtel du Palais, Biarritz
As a wedding photographer in Biarritz, I’ve had the chance to witness some truly special days — and Patricia and Victor’s wedding at the iconic Hôtel du Palais was one for the books. Picture a March day filled with elegance, emotional moments, and a touch of drama thanks to the moody Atlantic skies. If you’re dreaming of a wedding in Biarritz, this story might just inspire you.
Getting Ready: Two Locations, One Rising Tide of Emotion
The day began with laughter and camaraderie. Victor got ready with his best friends at the charming Hôtel Victoria, a stylish hideaway just steps from the ocean. The atmosphere was light and joyful, punctuated with bursts of nervous laughter and affectionate teasing among friends.
Patricia, on the other hand, prepared in the warm comfort of her family home in Biarritz. The house was buzzing with excitement — voices, music, and the sweet chaos that only a bride’s morning can bring.
She wore a stunning custom gown by Angeola, a local Biarritz designer whose craftsmanship and heart shine through in every stitch. A week before the wedding, I had the pleasure of photographing her final dress fitting — a tender session shared with her in-laws, captured for the Cuban side of the family who couldn’t make the journey.
The First Look: A Pause in Time at Biarritz Town Hall
There’s a moment in every wedding when time seems to stand still. For Patricia and Victor, it happened at the very start of their civil ceremony at the Biarritz town hall. As Patricia walked in, radiant in her gown, Victor’s eyes filled with tears — a raw, honest reaction that said more than words ever could.
Technology added a beautiful twist to the moment: Patricia’s mother, watching live from Cuba, joined in by video call. Despite the distance, love and emotion filled the room, connecting generations across oceans.
Photos in the Wind: The Hôtel du Palais as a Cinematic Backdrop
After the ceremony, we headed to the Hôtel du Palais gardens for the couple session. In March, Biarritz weather can be unpredictable — but on this day, it added character. Rolling clouds, a shifting sky, and bursts of wind gave us a moody, almost cinematic feel.
These are the moments I love most as a Biarritz wedding photographer: when nature plays along, and the couple melts into their own bubble, forgetting the lens. No stiff poses — just real, tender connections.
Dinner at La Rotonde: Timeless Elegance by the Ocean
The celebration continued in the iconic La Rotonde restaurant within the Hôtel du Palais. The setting was exquisite: white and gold tones, classic French refinement, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Atlantic.
Thanks to the incredible team at the hotel, every detail ran smoothly. Their professionalism and kindness created the perfect atmosphere for a celebration filled with love and joy.
